OCR: The mew gull is the smallest of com- monly seen white-headed gulls. It is about half the size of the glacous- winged gull, the "seagull" common to the coasts. The mew gull is further distinguished from the glacous-winged gull by its narrow wings and rapid wingbeat. The mew gull nests on the tundra in trees, stumps, or in cavities in sand near water.
